Paige Fleming
Administrative Assistant I
For Paige Fleming, Mississippi State University isn't just where she earned her degree in Animal and Dairy Science, it's where her life story unfolded. From meeting her husband outside the Lloyd Ricks Watson building 19 years ago, to raising her family in Starkville, to now working as an Administrative Assistant in the School of Human Sciences, Fleming's connection to MSU runs deep.
"Mississippi State and Starkville will always be my home," Fleming said. "I went to college here, met my husband here, raised my kids here, and bought my first house here. It's safe to say my heart will always be in Starkville."
At the School of Human Sciences, Fleming has found more than a job. She's found belonging with the staff, faculty, and students.
"The School of Human Sciences has given me a place to feel like I belong; that the work I do is important," she said. "I genuinely enjoy each interaction and cherish the things that are shared with me every single day. Every person in this building is precious to me!"
Her enthusiasm and warmth are matched with her admiration for those around her.
"I have such respect and admiration for our staff, faculty, and students," she said. "The things they have accomplished in the year I have been on this team are astounding! I am honored to say I work here."
When she's not at work, Fleming enjoys spending time with her family. They spend time together while gardening, fishing, hiking, helping on the family farm, playing board games, singing, and just spending quality time together.
Though she jokes about not having been in the "working world" long enough for a long list of accolades, she proudly holds the School of Human Sciences Best Dessert Award and The Master Travel Planner Award—lighthearted honors that reflect her fun-loving spirit and dedication to her team.
For Fleming, Mississippi State University and the School of Human Sciences represent more than work or education. They represent family, community, and a place she is proud to call home.
